January
2010 - After
a much earnt break from the ring in 2009 and an overseas
adventure in Europe and the UK, we plan to
get back into the swing of things in 2010.
Please
keep an eye out for "Maui" Jonja
Finder Keepers (Imp NZ) being exhibited by our
good friend Ash Maclot... Ash is new to our wonderful
breed and I wish her all the best of luck with "Maui".
And
also watch out for our gorgeous "Cyan" Kimyata
Magic Dirt, who needs those last few points to
finish off her Championship title... "Cyan"
was hard to beat when being strongly campaigned, lets
hope she continues in that style when she makes her
re-entrance in March 2010.
Just a few pictures

October
2009 - I would like to Congratulate
Aust GRAND CH. Esilanna WasabiSan O Cheeko (aka Saab)
on obtaining the final 9 points he needed for his
Grand Championship title last weekend. Saab is lovingly
bred/shown/owned by Liz Houldsworth, Saab was Liz
first Homebred Champion Japanese Spitz and I believe
her first Grand Champion. As I am sure you can guess
Liz was over the moon and we celebrate in true style
toasting the win with some Sparkling White. :)
Saab has had an outstanding show career
and has taken 6 Best in Groups (his first at 10 months)
and many more Reserve in Group awards... If I remember
correctly he has also won over 50+ Class in Group
awards!!! Saab is also now the Youngest Japanese
Spitz Grand Champion in QLD to obtain this title,
as he is yet to turn 3 years of age... I also believe
this makes him the third youngest Grand Champion in
the breed's history... :)
Both Leah and I are exceptional proud of Liz and Saab,
with Saab's parentage being a combination of both
our lines - Sire: Ch. Havenden
Lydoveski and Dam: Ch. Kimyata Spirited Away.
August
2009 - This year we have really cut
back on the amount of shows we are doing to focus
on other parts of our life, which is the reason I
don't have much to boast about!!! In the little shows
we have participated in for 2009 my dogs have consistantly
been well prized!
We do however still have Kimyata connections
flying the flag for our team including QLD No. 1 Japanese
Spitz for 2008 and leading 2009 "Ch.
Esilanna WasabiSan O Cheko" (pictured above)
taking 2 x Exhibit in Group and 2 Runner-Up Best Exhibit
in Group award so far in 2009... Remember to keep
an eye out for his full brother "Esilanna
Shiro Mashumaro" now just moving up
into the Minor Dog class and what a stunner he is
proving to be!!!
06/12/08
- What a finish to the 2008 show scene... Jonja
Finders Keepers (Imp NZ)"Maui"
at only his second show in minor class wins BEST OF
BREED from a nice entry of Japanese Spitz sand then
goes on to take out MINOR IN GROUP!! We could
not have been prouder of our little man, it is not
easy beating maturer and heavier coated dogs from
only 6 months of age but he did it!! Way to go Maui!!!
We have had an awesome showing year
in 2008 - with many CLASS in SHOW, CLASS IN GROUP,
ROYAL SHOW wins... and this is from the young kids.
Bring on 2009 when the youngsters step up to the plate
in the big leagues!!! I think 2009 is
going to be an exciting year for us at Kimyata!!!!
But for now it is time to take it easy and get up
to mischief over Christmas.... <lol>
15/11/08 -
This weekend we travelled over the border to Banglow
in NSW, it is an absolutely stunning area with gorgeous
rolling hills right to the Ocean... Jonja
Finders Keepers (Imp NZ) "Maui"
won another Baby in Group, this is now his
9th Baby in Group award with 2 Baby in Show awards...
Maui moves up with the big kids as of the 28th November
and has his last show in baby next weekend but he
has had an exceptional show career with an impressive
tally. Brag Brag <lol> The judge for Group 7
was Mr K. Iggelden who is abit of a Spitz-o- maniac,
so is one to add to your judges list.
03/11/08
- Did an away show this last weekend at Maryborgough
about 4.5 hour drive for Mum and I, it was a double
show which meant camping over night and no sleep.
<lol>
On the Saturday our judge was Mrs A Collyer (NSW).Jonja
Finders Keepers (Imp NZ) "Maui"
won another Best Baby in Group (a great acheivment
I think because he is all legs at the moment <lol>),
he also won 2nd Place in the Baby Sweepstakes under
Mr W Burton for (NSW). Mrs Collyer was a bit of a
Spitzmaniac and awarded 3 JS their class in Group
and 3 Schipperkes their Class in Group.
Off topic brag my Mum titled another homebred champion
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel this weekend and did
it in style take out a 25 point Best of Breed then
onto Best in Group. "Summer" completes 3 Generations
of homebred champions for my Mum with "Summer's"
son "Brock" getting his title last month in the same
style - a Best in Group!! So a BIG WoooHooo to Mum.
:)
03/11/08 -
Had 3 shows this weekend, 2 Champs and an Open Show
all at Durack! It was a very humid day raining on
and off... so not the best weather to keep the Japanese
Spitz feet clean. :)
Saturday show "Maui" Jonja Finders Keepers
(Imp NZ) took out another Baby in Group in
the Open Show under Mrs S. Taylor... but missed the
Championship show to a very cute 3 month old Shar-Pei
handled by Krystal Houldsworth.
On the Sunday Show I actually had "Oreo" Aust/NZ
Ch. Kimyata Puddle O Mud entered for a bit of a day
out for him, I have only lightly shown him this year
to concentrate on his children and grandchild, and
was VERY pleased to have him take out the Best of
Breed award under Mrs ML Davis. "Maui" also went on
to take out another Baby in Group...
04/10/08 -"Maui" Jonja Finders
Keepers (Imp NZ) added another Baby in Group to his
collection today with Best Baby in Group at the Dog
of the Year Support Committee Show under judge Ms
K. Tosi (QLD)... he is truely on a roll taking his
tally to 2 BABY IN SHOW and 5 BABY IN GROUP wins.
"Maui" is starting to go through
his "leggy teenage stage" but that doesn't
seem to be stopping him... the judges just love him!!
Maui is pictured above with his Grand-dad Oreo "Aust/NZ
Ch. Kimyata Puddle O Mud!!
26/09/08 - This
year I made the trip down to the Melbourne Royal Show...
I try to do a big event every year to get an idea
of what other Japanese Spitz are being shown around
Australia, as well as meet all new people. Again
our trip to Melbourne was a successful one with "Oreo"
Aust / NZ Ch. Kimyata Puddle O Mud" winning RESERVE
CHALLENGE DOG against some stiff competition …
The breed entry was 26 so a nice turnout for the breed!
Oreo hasn't been shown much in recent times and as
always shows his little heart out for me – I
was very proud!
I also took my young girl "Cyan" Kimyata
Magic Dirt down for the trip... she showed beautifull
but having just turned 12 months she was out of her
league against the much maturer girls in her class
but still placed in her large class which I was very
happy with!! Cyan is pictured above - Happy to be
home!
I stayed with Pam Taylor of Gelndaruel Japanese Spitz
and it was great to see the generations down of Japanese
SPitz from my lines, as well as see my girl "Gin"
Kimyata Tailor Made who is just a stuning young bitch...
21/09/08
-"Maui"
adds another Best Baby in Group to his collection at
the Maree Kennel Club at Durack Showground. The day
was a real stinker (HOT) with storms developing in the
afternoon which meant it was HOT and STICKY all day!!!
Maui continued his winning way again today... First
he was entered in the Baby Sweepstakes under Mrs Dickensen-Franks
(NSW) (was supposed to be Mr I. Hinde(VIC)) with a huge
baby entry of 40+ Babies with the judging stretching
out for 1 hour... Maui was shortlisted into the Top
8 babies but refused to stand any longer in the sun
and was trying to get into my shadow <lol> so
he missed the top 3 cut...
still a great achievement I think.
Maui
went on to take his 4th Baby in Group in a row again
yesterday, the judge Mr MR LeCussan (NSW) was very taken
with Maui and didn't even watch any other babies in
Group. Maui went no further in show this time,
Mr LeCussan also did general specials and commented
to me while on the table that Maui had won Baby in Group
easily, and that he was "in the mix" for Baby in Show.
Always nice to be some feedback.
Cyan who has been on a bit of a role lately, behaved
very naughty yesterday and basically gave away her chances,
she decided that she
would crab instead of walking properly <grr>,
she pulled herself together for Puppy in Group and got
a second glance from the judge
but he already knew who he wanted (which he did with
every class and I think is nice to see).
13/09/07 - Another
GREAT weekend for Kimyata…Today was the Allora
Kennel Club show under Judge Miss J. Ainscow (Sunmist
Samoyeds), 5 Japanese Spitz present. Challenge
Bitch and Best of Breed went to my young girl "Cyan"
Kimyata Magic Dirt (pictured above) with
Dog Challenge & RU Best of Breed going to her
brother "Tosh" Kimyata Australian Idol. Baby of Breed
was "Maui" Jonja
Finders Keepers (Imp NZ) (pictured top
winning his prize) … Cyan went
on to take Puppy in Group and Maui went on to take
BABY IN SHOW!!! As you can imagine I am very
proud of his results… this is his second IN
SHOW, again with comments from both judges stating
he is a true showman. General Specials judge was Mrs.
K. Eldred (NSW) which is a familiar name amongst JS
results. However Cyan was a bit unlucky having to
follow out Maui as her chances were lessened (with
RUBIS also going to a Non Sporting dog) but she did
behave beautifully and showed her heart out…
07/09/08 - Exciting
results for my dogs this weekend... Our new
boy "Maui" Jonja
Finders Keepers (Imp NZ) (pictured above)
was awarded Best Baby in Group and BEST BABY IN SHOW
at the Pine Rivers Kennel Club Open Show (400 Entry)
and he also took the Baby in Group award at the Championship
show under Mr Findlow (NSW)... he was also
the only Baby to make it back into the In Show line
up both shows. So I was very excited with his results.
He really shows his little heart out and won more
fans again ringside yesterday, with the champ judge
commenting on his showmanship. :)
On the Saturday at Beaudesert Show Society it was
my young girl Cyan
"Kimyata Magic Dirt" turn to shine winning a 9pt Challenge
Bitch against some nice competition. She
was awarded the Reserve Bitch CC on the Sunday again
also; she is only 11 months old and is really starting
to tread on the older girls heels.
Another brag... Congratulations to Tanya &
Takashi "Kimyata Chihu Takashi" in North Qld for another
great weekend of results with a 1st Place in Baby
Sweepstakes and 2 more Reserve Baby in Groups to add
to the collection. :) Takashi is doing exceptionally
well with his new owner, and we are both very excited
to watch his development.
31/08/08 - Our first
show out since after the Royal and what great results
we had!! This was "Maui's" first show and
we were super happy with his results... "Maui"
was awarded 2nd BABY PUPPY SWEEPSTAKES under judge
Ms G. Goller (Qld) over 20 other babies (and
some steep compeition), he really created a BUZZ around
the ring with heaps of people approaching my Mum and
myself to gush about how wonderful Maui was!! Very
proud!!! Not to be outdone, "Cyan"
took to the stage and was awarded Reserve Bitch Challenge
(very close to taking the Bitch Challenge award -
give her another 2 months) and then went on to take
RUNNER UP BEST OF BREED under Mrs T. McDonald ...
both these awards were acheived over mature and titled
competition so I was very proud... Obviously Cyan
was a judge favourite (having awarded her highly before)
but sadly Cyan wouldn't stand still for her Class
in Group with something really smelling on the ground
in front of her and was beaten by the Dalmation -
BUGGER!!! That would have been the icing on the cake
but a great day was had by all!!!
23/08/08 - Congratulations
to Tanya Philips and Kimyata Chihu Takashi on being
award BEST BABY IN GROUP on your first show together
- under judge Mr. T. McDonald!!!! Takashi
has set off on a show career in Far North Qld and
we wish Tanya and him all the best... The make a super
show team and I think there will be alot more exciting
results to come.
17/08/08
- HE HAS ARRIVED!!!
It is with great excitement that we announce the arrival
of our FIRST IMPORT Jonja Finders Keepers who arrived
late Sunday night from a snowing New Zealand. “Maui”
is just the most gorgeous little fellow… My
first impressions of him was a demanding bark to be
let out of the crate and then just a bundle of fearless
energy that came tumbling out… he also gives
the most gorgeous little snuggles!!
"Maui"
as he is known to his friends is our handsome Oreo’s
grandson… It was our hope to get a
puppy from Oreo when he was in New Zealand in 2006
but this never eventuated… now we have a gorgeous
Grandson out of Oreo’s daughter Fudge “NZ
Ch. Mondail Cookies and Cream”. Oreo’s
daughter Fudge has had an exceptional show career
to date taking her first Best of Breed from Baby Class
and Multiple Best in Group and Class in Show awards…
we hope her son will follow in suit!!
Big Thank-you goes to Jane Faulkner for allowing
me to have little “Maui” and sending me
such a promising little fellow… I am looking
forward to showing him soon!
16/08/08
-The Brisbane Royal has now been
and gone for another year… I was very happy
with my results again this year with
Cyan “Kimyata Magic Dirt” taking one
of the Top Awards on the day Champion Puppy of Breed
under Japanese judge Mr H. Kamisato. There
was a decent entry in the Breed this year with a lot
of people coming out of the woodwork for the event.
Cyan qualified to attend the General Specials day
and compete for Champion Puppy in Group… a
great thrill as the Grandstand was packed full of
spectators. I was very proud to be 1 of only 2 Japanese
Spitz that exhibited on the General Specials day,
and I really think Cyan did the breed proud…
she held herself together brilliantly and showed beautifully
for a 10 month old bitch! I on the other hand was
a nervous wreck, worsened by the fact that Cyan was
a JUDGE FAVOURITE!! The judge was VERY taken with
her… a great credit as the judge was again
from Japan - Mr Katsumi Nakano.
The following day was the Gundog and Heavy Breeds
Club of QLD show where Oreo took Runner-Up Best Exhibit
in Group last year… always a large event following
the Ekka General Specials. Not as a successful day
for us this year, Cyan still managed to win her Class
in Breed and got a very nice looks for Puppy in Group,
she behaved beautifully and just stood superbly …
but the judging was very facey which is always disappointing
– with the who’s who taking out the big
prizes!!! Always next time…
27/07/08
- This weekend we attended the Ladies Kennel
Association of Qld double header show at Durack…
I only had my two young girls “Cyan” &
“Cherri” entered with some nice results
from the weekend. “Cyan”
was awarded a Reserve CC over the weekend as well
as being VERY close to taking the Bitch CC on the Sunday
against a nice entry of bitches, the judge
just STARED at Cyan and really took her time deciding
on the Bitch CC… it was very close and I think
give her a few more months (she is only 9 months old)
and she will be one to beat!!
20/07/08
-WoooHooo!!! Congratulations to Pam
Taylor and her young girl “Gin” Kimyata
Tailer Made on obtaining Australian Champion status.
“Gin” has done exceptionally
well in the ring to date, taking Multiple Best of Breed
awards over older and titled competition since her first
show in Minor…. and at just over 13 months of
age her title is an excellent achievement!! Congratulations….
I look forward to seeing my young girl again in September
when we attend the Melbourne Royal Show in Victoria.
17/05/08
-“Cyan”
is again awarded Best Bitch Challenge and this time
BEST OF BREED at the Brookfield Show. We
also had some wonderful photographs taken of Cyan
and her brother Bundy which will be updated shortly.
This is our last show until June, with a well deserved
rest from the ring.
12/05/08
- It is with sadness that I inform everyone
that today our beautiful "Kyra" passed away
suddenly from an aggressive and imperceptible form
of cancer. She was only 5 years old!
Kyra had only recently returned home
to retire with us after being successfully shown by
Pam Taylor in Victoria. Kyra had the most stunning
temperament and was always there for a cuddle…
she fit in easily as part of the family and will be
GREATLY missed by all! Kyra left us one parting gift…
a litter of gorgeous babies (only 5 weeks old). Rest
in piece our special girl!
03/05/08 -
What a day for the Japanese Spitz breed and what a
day for Kimyata! This
weekend was the Asian Breeds Club Show of QLD under
judge Ms L. Norman (VIC) and my kennel received some
WONDERFUL results.
There was a large number of Japanese
Spitz entered (10) with most exhibitors in Queensland
present... Best of Breed & Best Bitch
Challenge was awarded to Cammie "Ch. Kimyata
Spirited Away" owned and handled by Liz Houldsworth,
Cammie also went on to take BEST INTERMEDIATE IN SHOW
(pictured above). But that was
just the start of what was a very successful day,
our young girl “Cyan”"Kimyata
Magic Dirt" also took out BEST MINOR IN SHOW
and was awarded 1st Place in the Puppy Sweepstakes
under Mrs. T. McDonald. I think Ms L. Norman
was very taken with her as I had barely stopped and
staked Cyan when the judge was already walking up
to award her!
Kimyata also was very prominent
in the breed results with Oreo "Aust/NZ
Ch. Kimyata Puddle O Mud" taking Reserve Dog
Challenge and Cammie's son winning Best Dog Challenge
and Runner-Up Best of Breed.
The judge later commented that it
was excellent to see Japanese Spitz coming down in
size and being more correct. She was very happy with
what she saw. An excellent day was had by all...
Please enjoy the footage of the show
below, it is not the best quality but you get the
idea... I am the one in the skirt with blonde hair.
:)
05/04/08
- Today we attended the Nanango show with some
nice results... I only showed the one japanese Spitz
as our gorgoeus girl "Cyan" had an unset stomach
and was feeling abit down. The star of the day was "Tosh"
who after having a run of being beaten by his sister
for Baby of Breed attended his first show in Puppy Class
and was awarded Resever Dog Challenge and BEST PUPPY
IN GROUP under judge Mr Mr. T.M. Horchner (Vic.)! I
was very proud with how he showed and he never stopped
smiling. :)
30/03/08 - What
a start!! This weeekend we had the Sunshine Coast
Kennel Club show under New Zealand Judge Mrs Y. Smith
with some lovely results..."Cyan"
Kimyata Magic Dirt, who has just gone up into Minor
Puppy Class, was awarded Bitch Challenge, Runner Up
Best of Breed and MINOR PUPPY IN GROUP only
out beaten for Best of Breed by her handsome daddy
"Oreo" Aust/NZ
Ch. Kimyata Puddle O Mud. Judge was Mrs Y. Smith (NZ)
"Cyan"
showed wonderfully for the "In Show" line-up
(apart from the occasion hope skip and jump - typical
spitz) watching my every move, and standing like a
statue... I couldn't have been prouder. The general
specials judge was Mrs S. Barrett (NZ) and she gave
"Cyan" a VERY good look but was piped at
the post by the Staffie. There is always next time...
08/03/08
- "Cyan"
does it again proving she has what it takes winning
BEST BABY IN GROUP at Pittsworth Show
Society under judge Ms K. Tosi (Qld). "Cyan"
really gets out there and strutts her stuff beautifully,
she just has the "IT" factor. I am very
excited to see what the future holds for her and her
gorgeous brothers!!!
27/02/08
- My fur kids and I have taken a few weekends
off showing recently in order to move into our new
place... We have acquired a beautiful property on
large acreage with a dam and plenty and room for the
Japanese Spitz to play and stretch their legs. I will
try to get some piccies of the spitz enjoying their
new found space in the coming weeks... but for now
their is plenty to unpack!
We have only done a handful of shows so far in 2008
and I have been concentrating on my younger babies...
The results recently have been consistent with "Cyan"
beating her brothers in her last 2 outings!!!
We have some exciting shows coming up in the future...
please keep checking back to see our results!!
12/01/08 - "Tosh"
again takes out another Baby of Breed at that Darling
Downs Kennel Club show [CH] under Judge Miss D Cuthbert
(SA)... while not to be outdone "Cyan"
proves she has what it takes winning BABY IN GROUP
at the Open show against a nice entry of bubs under
judge Mr A Brown. Cyan truly strutted her stuff in
the General Specials ring and it was lovely
to hear people outside the ring saying "the spitz"
to win... the judge also commented how happy she was.
I couldn't be prouder of how well she went!!
I am very proud of Oreo’s achievement throughout
2007… after returning from a year long
trip to New Zealand in 2006 where he was UNBEATEN
for Best of Breed; Oreo’s winning run
didn’t stop there… Oreo took out 21
Best of Breeds and 29 Dog CC (Championship
Shows Only) in 2007 with a further 12 RU Best
of Breeds alot of these being from Reserve
CC … and this is from a mere 40 odd shows we
attended through 2007 making only 8 shows where Oreo
wasn’t in the winner circle!!! No bad hey!!
Some of his impressive results include Best of Breeds
and RU Best of Breed at some of Australia’s
& Queensland’s biggest shows:
• Best of Breed - Adelaide Autumn International
[Day 1] Mr C. Stefanescu (Romania)
• RU Best of Breed - Adelaide Autumn International
[Day 2] Mr S. Hanaue (Japan)
• Best of Breed - Adelaide Autumn International
[Day 3] Mr D. Markus (Canada)
• Best of Breed - Royal Canine Autumn Classic
[Day 2 AM] Mr A. Johnson (WA)
• RU Best of Breed - Royal Canine Autumn Classic
[Day 2 PM] Mrs J. Kirin (ACT)
• Best of Breed and Australian Bred in Group
- IKC "Winter Carnival" Mr D. Harrison
(Sth Africa)
• Best of Breed - Western Suburbs Kennel Club
"Winter Carnival" Mr Tan Oo Hock (Malaysia)
• Dog CC & RU Best of Breed - Victorian Spitz
Breeds Club Mrs W. Slatyer (NSW))
• Best of Breed - Beaudesert Kennel Club Mr
S Shen (Singapore)
With his most impressive show win for 2007 being RUNNER-UP
BEST IN GROUP & AUSTRALIAN BRED IN GROUP at the
Gundog & Heavy Breeds Club of Qld under
Mrs C. Byrnes-Suchy (NSW) held at Durack
with a group entry of over 100.
2008 will be the year where Oreo takes the back seat
while his first Australian litter takes to the ring…
He has 3 beautiful babies who hopefully will be following
in his Dad’s foot steps.
Although still young and lacking the finish of older
bitches (plus a litter in the later part of 2007),
Astryd has still managed to take a number of Bitch
CC’s, Reserve CC and Runner-Up Best of Breeds
over both mature and titles dogs and bitches –
taking her closer to her Australian Championship title.
Not to mention the multiple championship show
Class in Group wins she has under her belt
and she has not long entered the Junior Class…
Hopefully 2008 will be her year!!
I cannot wait to see what 2008 hold for
us!!!
....
01/01/08 - The babies
had their first show last night at the Dog of the
Year Support Committee show held at Durack... I could
not have been prouder with how they went. It appears
event he raing couldn't put a damper on the puppies
attitudes with Baby of Breed going to "Tosh"
who also beat out both his brother and sister for
the prize. The bubs really got out there and strutted
their stuff like old pros... I do hope they continue
in this fashion!!
The show was also the first show for Stefan and his
baby "Bundy" Kimyata Midnight Oil... they
both did very well for their first outing and made
a great team! Watch out for them practising in the
ring together more in 2008!!
03/12/07
- A double header this weekend at Coominya
with the Lockyer Valley Kennel Club Show, there was a large
entry of JS with 9 entered both days... some excellent results
for Kimyata this weekend. I wish I had my camera as there
were 3 Kimyata bitches in the Challenge line up both days.
It is a very proud moment to see dogs you have breed doing
well in the ring and maturing into beautiful examples of
the breed...
Bitch CC both days was Ch. Kimyata Spirited Away owned
and shown by Liz Houldsworth... Cammie has been out of the
ring for most of the year after having her first litter
and has really matured up and is looking wonderful!!! Her
son Esilanna Wasabi Sanocheko was Runner Up Best of Breed
both days - at just 10 months of age Saab is already a Best
in Group winner just like his Mum. :))
Reserve Bitch CC on the Saturday was Cammie's sister Ch.
Kimyata Drama Queen owned by Leah Kimmet and Reserve Bitch
CC from Minor Puppy Class on the Sunday was a very cheeky
Kimyata Aksidental Kiss again owned by Leah Kimmet and handled
by myself!!
Lets hope the girls can keep these results coming for 2008!!!!!
10/11/07
- A bit of a muddy day a Beaudesert Kennel
Club Show, the set up of the show was not as good as previous
years which really spoiled the event especially considering
it has a full international judging panel over two days.
Our judge for the first day was Mr S. Shen of Singapore
who awarded "Oreo" Best of Breed, amongst some
nice competion. Oreo went on to be given a very good look
for Best in Group and was shortlisted into the final 4 for
Best Australian Bred in Group. The judge appeared
to be placing the group wins in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th which
they do overseas but do not do in Australia... he had Oreo
placed at the top of the line and then moved the Shar Pei
ahead before moving his final 4 around and awarding the
group to the Shar Pei... so it was very close but still
nice for "Oreo" again to be recognised by International
Judges... Mr Shen was a lovely judge who really took his
time with every breed.
I did not attend the show the following day, as the ground
were not very satisfactory and it continued to rain throughout
the night... so we gave it a miss. I hope that next year
the show will be moved to better grounds, as it is not often
we get a full International Panel.
06/10/07 -
After a months break from the show ring, giving myself and
Oreo a rest (not to mention our new puppies - read below)
we had our first show back today at the Dog of the Year
Support Committee Double show. Oreo didn't do too
badly for himself taking Res Dog CC and RU Best of Breed
in the first show under Mr G. McGreevy and taking Best of
Breed at the second show under Mrs N. Zimmerle. I
was quite pleased with his results... we have not entered
to many shows for October either but hope to get back into
the full swing for the Night shows later this year.
27/09/07 - Astryd
gives birth to her very first litter this morning producing
3 males and 1 female. The father of this litter is our beautiful
Oreo "Aust/NZ Ch. Kimyata Puddle O Mud" this is
Oreo's first litter in Australia (as he produced 5 while
in NZ). I am very excited to watch them grow and I hope
to run of a male (hopefully yo follow in his Dad's footprints).
Both Mum and bubs are doing well, with Astryd fitting right
into being a new Mum!!! Please visit the puppy page to see
photos.
15/09/07 - Only
one show for me this weekend Allora Kennel Club [CH]...
Oreo was Best of Breed but went no further after
being knocked out by the Best in Group (Poodles - grr).
This is my last show now until October as I have a very
fat Astryd carrying some special cargo for me - which is
due to be delivered 29th September. :))
Completely non Japanese Spitz related - I again handled
my Mum's Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Mystique "Kahleyvale
Dreamwaever" to yet another challenge bitch, but this
time she went on to take Best of Breed and Intermediate
in Group - WooHoo!! Wonderful results yet again for my Mum's
homebred girl!! Visit her site:http://www.kahleyvalecavaliers.com/
09/09/07 - She's
done it again... Sugah" Kimyata Aksidental Kiss (owned
by Leah Kimmet) did exceptionally well for her2nd weekend
of showing taking yet another BABY IN GROUP under Mrs. D.
Daly (QLD) and then going on to take BEST BABY IN SHOW under
Mrs. C. Rafton (NSW) at the Pine Rivers Kennel Club Show
[CH] at Durack. I have been told that there was a very nice
baby entry and Sugah really showed her heart out! Way to
go Leah and Sugah!!!
01/09/07 - Some
excellent results for Kimyata this weekend at the Burnett/Wondai
double header show. We were very excited to have our gorgeous
Astryd "Kimyata Deja Vous" take Bitch
CC (8 points), Runner Up Best of Breed & JUNIOR IN GROUP
at Burnett Kennel Club Inc under Judge Miss D. Norman. There
were 8 Japanese Spitz entered so it was an EXCELLENT result
for such a young girl. Astryd is a very moody young girl
who doesn't always perform as well as we know she can, so
I was very happy with this result and to have the judge
comment on how lovely and sound she thought she was, was
the icing on the cake! PLUS, under judge Mrs V Spence "Bunny"
Esilanna KisMi Sushi (out of Ch. Kimyata Spirited Away)
takes out 1st in the Puppy Sweepstakes (over 10 entered)...
Bunny is owned by my good friend Leah Kimmet of Havenden
Japanese Spitz.
On the second day, Oreo "Aust/NZ Ch. Kimyata
Puddle O Mud" takes out RU Best of Breed (again 8 Japanese
Spitz entered) and the newest Japanese Spitz edition
to the ring, strutting her stuff for Kimyata is "Sugah"
Kimyata Aksidental Kiss (owned by Leah Kimmet). Sugah was
the star of the day doing exceptionally well for her first
show and taking out BABY IN GROUP under Mrs V Spence.
Completely non Japanese Spitz related - I also handled
my Mum's Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Mystique "Kahleyvale
Dreamwaever" to TWO Challenge Bitch awards at the Burnett/Wodai
double header show. There was a large C.K.C.S entry with
her CC's totalling 24 points (1x 13 point CC & 1 x 11
point CC). Wonderful results for my Mum's homebred girl!!

I was very happy with my results from the weekend and it
was great to see dogs I have bred or dogs down from those
I have breed doing so well in the ring!!!
19/08/07 - WooooHooo!!!
Oreo "Aust/NZ Ch. Kimyata Puddle O Mud" takes
out the impressive award of Runner-Up BEST EXHIBIT IN GROUP
& Australian Bred in Group at the Gundog and Heavy Breeds
Club of Qld Specialty Show under judge Mrs C. Byrnes-Suchy
(NSW) (102 Entries in Group 7). Plus Runner-Up Best of Breed
from Puppy class was Esilanna KisMi Sushi (out of Ch. Kimyata
Spirited Away) and our gorgeous little bitch Kimyata Deja
Vous taking Reserve Challenge Bitch from Junior class (both
over a mature bitch)... WooooHooo!!!
The judge was a lovely lady who really took her time to
go over the breed; she also took the time after judging
to comment on how lovely she thought Oreo was. I was very
excited to have Oreo take Runner-Up Best Exhibit in Group
and at such a big show - with a large entry... I am a very
proud Mum!! It was pouring down rain by the time we got
to General Specials and Oreo has had enough... however he
did get a very good look from the General Specials judge
Mr J. Forbes (NSW) before he awarded Best Australian Bred
in Show to the Newfy!
09/07/07 - I
returned late last night from a VERY wet Melbourne... it
appears the good old fashioned law of it peeing down rain
when I travel has not let me down <lol> I had a very
jammed packed 2 days in Melbourne staying with Pam Taylor
of Glendaruel Japanese Spitz and her four legged family.
It was great to finally see my Kyra "Ch. Kimyata Butterfly
Effect" in the flesh as well as the progeny down from
her. Kyra is a spitting image of her Mother Ch. Snowmagic
Silva Angel.... and she has the same "lovely"
habit of demanding your attention ever second and if ignored
pawing you until you give in <lol>.
On the Sunday I attended the Victorian Spitz Breeds
Club show, it was a lovely set up (inside, thankfully).
It was a very busy start to the day, and I was exhausted
after the judging of the Japanese Spitz, helping Pam show
her 5 Japanese Spitz, I have never been so busy in the ring
and preparing ring side <lol>!! I was very excited
to have Oreo "Aust Ch/ NZ Ch. Kimyata Puddle O Mud"
take Dog Challenge (10pts) and RU Best of Breed out of an
entry of 12 Japanese Spitz... Judge: Mrs W. Slayter (NSW).
I received some lovely comments about Oreo from fellow exhibitors
within the Japanese Spitz breed and those attending the
show. However the judge did take her time which meant I
was unable to stay and watch the General Specials as I had
to fly back to Sunny Qld... I did enjoy my trip and I think
that the Melbourne Royal may be added to my trip list :))
30/06/07 - I
have had a few weeks off showing recently as I just moved
into a new place, so this has taken up a lot of my time...
We had our first "show" back today with some wonderful
results. It was the C.C.C.Q Sweepstakes Carnival which was
held for the first time this year, it is a Sweepstakes event
which is all breeds within a Group competing for a placing
(1st-5th) in their age class or Champion or Non Champion
class. Oreo was entered in the Champion Sweepstakes
for Group 7 and was awarded 2nd place from a panel of 5
judges Mrs J. Ireland, Mr s. Arrowsmith, Mr R. Ellis, Mrs.
J Edwards and Mrs A Everson. I was very happy with
the results, as there were up to 20 dogs entered in the
Champion Sweepstakes including 4 Grand Champions... for
Oreo to be acknowledged by a panel of judges is very impressive!!
16/06/07 - QKC
double header shows this weekend with some mixed results...
Our gorgeous Astryd is currently in season at the moment,
which is always the way as she was just starting to get
a nice coat and was the reason I entered these two shows
knowing the judge would like her "type", so I
have just been showing Oreo (who loves being centre of attention).
Oreo is awarded Best of Breed at the Saturday show
under Mrs P. Hall (NSW), she was not very interested
in the Japanese Spitz breed at all and played the Poodle
game.
On the Sunday there was a huge entry of Japanese Spitz
(11) and I had both a Open and Championship show, in the
Open show Oreo was awarded RU Best of Breed out of a nice
entry of Japanese Spitz. In the Championship show Oreo is
awarded 2nd Place (3 dogs in the class) in the Open Dog
Class... one of his worst results this year <lol>.
But you win some you loose some...
I am very happy with Oreo's run of wins lately, he has
consistantly taken Best of breed since his return from New
Zealand in late January (his first show being 3rd February),
all his CC points and Best of Breeds were received against
adult competition and some of his points include 10 and
11 point Challenges & Best Of Breed's... which for a
rare breed is an excellent result. He has also taken out
a number of class in group awards including Australian Bred
in Group at the IKC Winter Carnival show with entries over
1250. I hope he continues his winning ways throughout 2007,
as I thoroughly enjoy showing my special boy!!
11//06/07 - The
Winter Carnival is one of the biggest shows of the year
here in Sunny Queensland, and with an entry close to 1300
both days it was a great turn out... I was very excited
to take out Best of Breed and Best Australian Bred
in Group with Oreo 'Aust Ch/ NZ Ch. Kimyata Puddle O Mud
under Judge: Mr D. Harrison (Sth Africa) on day one. It
was a huge lineup for Australian Bred in Group including
some very stiff competition, Oreo also actually made it
back into the General Specials and got a VERY nice look
from the judge (who originally ignored Oreo, until we did
our turn and that seemed to grab his attention). The General
Specials judging didn't finish until about 6:30pm... very
long day!!
On the second day, Oreo was again awarded Best
of Breed under Judge was Mr Tan Oo Hock (Malaysia),
he did get a really good look again for Australian Bred
in Group but was piped at the post this time . I also showed
my Mum's Cavalier Cardi "Ch. Barlency Cardinal"
for Best in Group, (who now has 31 points to go until his
Grand Championship title!!!) as my Mum was called into work...
Cardi was Shortlised into the final 5 of the group and went
on to take Australian Bred in Group. He showed very well
for me and we again made it back into the General Specials
but were beaten by the LeCourts Siberian Husky.... So all
in all a good weekend with awesome results!!!
20/05/07 -
Oreo continues his good run with another day another 2 shows...
Gold Cost Canine Club Autumn International was held for
the first time this year, with wonderful entries of almost
1000. There were 2 shows, one in the morning and one in
the afternoon with 10 Japanese Spitz entered at both shows...
I was excited to have Oreo take Best of Breed at the first
show under Mrs. J. Kirin (ACT) and again taking RU Best
of Breed at the second show under Mr A. Johnson (WA).
Oreo was also taken into Junior Handlers by a very talented
young handler named Melissa. I must say I was a little jealous
with how well they performed together and Oreo just did
everything as expected, they went on to be placed first
in the Senior class against a very strong lineup.
19/05/07 - WooHooo...
Oreo is awarded Best of Breed at Brookfield Show under Mrs
S. Barrett (NZ) and goes on to be Shortlisted for Best in
Group (sadly Best in Group came from Australian
Bred so Oreo couldn't go back in for his class in group).
The judge commented that Oreo was a "delightful young
man" and further commented to another exhibitor that
she was very impressed with the quality of JS exhibited.
Oreo showed beautifully and it was lovely to receive such
praise from the judge.
I am very happy with Oreo's run of wins lately, he has
received over 150 Challenge points since his return from
New Zealand in late January (his first show being 3rd February),
all his points were received against adult comptetion and
some of his points include 10 and 11 point BOB's... which
for a rare breed is an excellent result. I hope he continues
his winning ways throughout 2007, as I thoroughly enjoy
showing my special boy!!
07/05/07 - This
weekend we travelled to Kingaroy and Wondai to attend the
3 day shows this weekend. We had some wonderful results
with Oreo taking Best of Breed and OPEN IN GROUP
at ALL 3 shows... Oreo was awarded Best of Breed
and Open in Group at Burnett Kennel Club Inc [CH] under
Judge: Mr M. Arthur (NSW), Best of Breed and Open in Group
at Burnett Kennel Club Inc [OP] under Judge Mr A. Brown
(Qld) and Best of Breed and Open in Group at South Burnett
National Show Society [CH] under Judge Miss J. Ainscow (Qld).
He had some lovely competition over the weekend and behaved
beautifully... I am very happy with his results!!!
22/04/07 - This
weekend we travelled to Rockhampton (10 hours away) to visit
my mother's Aunty and Grandmother. On our way home we attended
the Mt Perry Show, Mt Perry is a country town west of Bundaberg.
It was very hot, dry and dusty day. Oreo was awarded Best
of Breed and Astryd Challenge Bitch, Astryd then went on
to take Puppy in Group out of a nice entry of puppies. My
mother also took Best of Breed with her Cavalier Cardi who
now has 83 points to go towards his Grand title... one of
Mum's younger boys Brock also took Minor in Group. It was
a nice but long day...
10/04/07 - More
show results... A double header shows this weekend at Durack
with Oreo being awarded Dog CC & RU Best of
Breed both days and Astryd being awarded Res. Challenge
Bitch both days. Astryd is starting to get a lot
of consideration from the judges and I evisage a bright
show future ahead of her.
On some exciting news our beautiful Uisce "Glendaruel
Chihu Tsuki" gives birth to 2 beautiful females, the
father of the litter is our gorgeous Kodah "Kimyata
Love Actually". This is a repeat mating of our very
promising Astryd... we also have a show order from this
litter which will make Kodah's 5 child in the ring!!!
02/04/07 -
Kimyata had a very successful weekend, with lovely
results over the two days. On Saturday we attended the Warwick
Show and Rodeo Socitey under Mr S. Warry (WA), Oreo
"Aust/NZ Ch. Kimyata Puddle O Mud" was awarded
Best of Breed against some lovely competition (10 points)
and our cheeky puppy Astryd "Kimyata Deja Vous"
was awarded Reserve Challenge and Puppy of Breed.
It was a day of very close possibilities with Astyrd getting
a very good consideration for Challenge bitch and Oreo a
very LONG look for Best in Group, sadly Best In Group came
from Australian Bred Class so he didn't get to go back in
again. On the Sunday we attended the Sunshine Coast Kennel
Club show with judge Mr G. Russell, Oreo was once again
awarded Best of Breed (10 points) and this time a very naughty
Astryd was awarded Reserve Challenge and Puppy of Breed.
I was most happy this weekend with Astryd performance,
after a long break from the ring for her first season, she
is slowly starting to get it all together again. Once she
coats up again, I think she will once again be highlighting
some wonderful results.
14/03/07
- I have just returned from a lovely holiday
to Adelaide to attend the Autumn International Show. We
flew in last night after spending 5 days in Adelaide with
our good friends Kimberley and Sue Marshall of Timokym Cavaliers.
We had a wonderful time in Adelaide, (as I have never been
before) it is a very peaceful and green leafy city. We spent
our spare days doing the tourist things heading to the beach
and enjoying the countryside of the Adelaide Hills but the
main event of our trip was the Autumn International Show,
a prestigious 3 day event held at the Adelaide Showgrounds
inside a carpeted and air-conditioned building. The event
showcased an all international judging panel as well as
the Australian Dog of the Year Final.
I had my boy Oreo "Aust / NZ Ch. Kimyata Puddle
O Mud" entered over the 3 days and we came home with
some lovely results. It was great to see some other Japanese
Spitz showcasing different lines to what is so regularly
seen in South East Queensland. Oreo was awarded Best of
Breed 2 out of the 3 days with RUBOB on the 3rd, Oreo showed
beautifully on the Saturday (Judge: Mr C. Stefanesu (Romania))
and the Monday (Judge: Mr D. Markus (Canada)), however on
the Sunday he was a little misbehaving and was very keen
on the toy the other lady had and kept turning around to
see what she had... sadly Japanese judges (Judge: Mr S.
Hanuae (Japan)) love a dog to show like clock work so we
had to be content with the RUBOB however it was very close
and he took his time choosing.
On the Sunday night we attended the Australian Dog of the
Year Final, and Dinner. It was a very Queensland night with
the Queensland State Winner "Poodle" owned by
Lance Wright winning the prestigious title of Australian
Dog of the Year... After the judging we attended the Gala
Dinner which was a gorgeous evening with a 5 course meal,
everyone was dresses in Black Tie for the evening and it
really was a wonderful evening. We were also funnily enough
seated next to a lovely lady who wad also from Qld :))
We had a wonderful trip in Adelaide and hope to do it again
sometime. Please check back shortly to see some updated
photos of Oreo.
25/02/07 -Oreo takes another Best of Breed at Killarney
Show Society... he is having a nice run at the
moment and has received 29 challenge points in 3 shows.
The judge actually commented after judging on how sound
and well presented Oreo was, she actually had Oreo down
as one of her favourites for Group. Always lovely to get
back some positive feedback.
Astryd has actually been in season so she has taken a break
from the ring, she is a beautiful girl and I hope to have
her back in the ring at our next show...
20/02/07 -
Beaudesert Kennel Club double shows were on this
weekend with mixed results. Oreo was awarded Best
of Breed against some strong competition at the Championship
Show under judge Mrs R. Henderson. Oreo was given
a nice look for Best Exhibit in Group and showed beautifully
but was beaten by the Dalmation. Oreo was also entered in
the Open show (shows for trainee judges) but the judging
was disappointing... however he did win where it counts
receiving a 10 point Best of Breed. :)).
Also, last weekend Kimyata Drama Queen obtained
her final points for her Australian title. Congratulations
Macca and Leah on being such a wonderful team.
11/02/07 -
Oreo "Aust/NZ Ch. Kimyata Puddle o Mud"
had his first show back at Beenliegh and District Kennel
Club Champ Show and apart from me being a nervous wreck
(lol) Oreo did wonderfully and showed his little heart out.
Kimyata had another successful evening with Oreo
was awarded Best of Breed against some strong competition
and our beautiful hombred girl Kimyata Drama Queen taking
RU Best of Breed. Was lovely having my security
blanket back. :)
19/01/07 -
I am excited to announce that Oreo "Aust / NZ Ch. Kimyata
Puddle O Mud" arrived home from his holiday in New
Zealand safe and sound last night. Oreo has settled back
into our family very well and is my every shadow showering
me with kisses and cuddles.
Oreo had a lovely adventure in New Zealand... He was spoilt
rotten by his owner Sue who trained him to retrieve the
mail and jump into her arms for a cuddle.:)) In the show
ring he was unbeaten for Best of Breed and as a stud dog
sired 5 litters of puppies with 4 of his children being
shown. One of Oreo's daughters recently did well at the
NKC Nationals taking Reserve of Breed and Challenge bitch
over older dogs with the English judge commenting that the
baby puppy (yes she won all this at 4 months and yes in
NZ babies go for BOB) will give the adult dogs a run for
their money!!!
I look forward to showing Oreo again in 2007, as I have
missed my security blanket. <lol>
04/01/07 - Our
beautiful girl Mulan "Ch. Snowmagic Silva Angel"
turn 8 years old today. Mulan was Kimyata's introduction
to the breed and the resident couch potato. We were lucky
enough to have Lois Klinger, Mulan's breeder from Victoria,
visit us for the day to help celebrate her birthday, along
with local friends Leah and Liz....
