Although Kimyata is a relatively new kennel, I have been
active in the Dog World for many years… My Mum has
been breeding and exhibiting Cavalier
King Charles Spaniels since 1989, so dogs and exhibiting
was second nature to me.
I have
been exhibiting dogs since I was 10 and won my first Junior
Handlers on my first outing into the ring (10 years &
2 weeks)...qualifying me for "Pal Junior Handlers Final"
at the Brisbane Royal. I did very well in my first year
taking out many first places and even a 3rd place at the Toowoomba
Royal. The show bug had bitten me but not the Junior handling
bug and I continued to exhibit my mothers dogs occasionally.

Mulan
was our first Japanese Spitz. I had wanted a Japanese
Spitz since I saw a photo of one in a dog book that I
got for my 10th birthday. When I saw this beautiful 'white
Spitz', I knew I had to have one. Four years later I got
my first girl - Ch. Snowmagic Silva Angel or "Mulan"
to her friends. Mulan was around 5 months old when we
got her. We were lucky enough to purchase her in part
ownership with Leah Kimmet, as we had someone with experience
to introduce us to the breed and help us with any other
problems we may have had. It wasn't until Mulan came along
that the Showing bug bit me hard and I was addicted.

Kimyata's
first litter - 2000 |
I
bred my first Japanese Spitz litter in September 2000.
I was on hand to help Mulan bring 4 healthy bundles of
joys into the world. From this litter "Kanya"
Ch. Kimyata Kiss This, owned by Leah Kimmet of Havenden Japanese Spitz, took out Baby in Group in Both Championship
and Open Shows at her second show and that was only the
beginning...she is a Multi-Group winner also taking 1st
place in QLD Classics and Sweepstakes. She was destined
to be my first home-bred Champion.

In
2002, we were lucky enough to be one of the first breeders
in Australia to use the newly import Ch. Okkoyomas Cola
D’ Becca (Imp NWY) over our foundation bitch “Mulan”.
This litter proved to be one of Kimyata’s most successful
to date, producing 2 Australia Champions Aust Ch. Kimyata
Puddle O Mud and Aust Ch. Kimyata Butterfly Effect. Aust
Ch. Kimyata Puddle O Mud is currently our most consistent
Japanese Spitz to date, winning many accolades and doing
me proud. He is a Championship show Best Exhibit in Group
winner and Royal Best of Breed winner taking RU Best of
Breed at the Toowoomba Royal 2004, Best of Breed Toowoomba
Royal 2005 and Res Challenge Dog Brisbane Royal Show 2005.
In 2006 Oreo has set off on a year long trip to obtain
his New Zealand Championship and returned home in 2007 as a New Zealand Champion, leaving behind in New Zealand a number number of his children..

Toowoomba Royal Show 2005.
2002 also saw another new addition to our family, the beautiful "Uisce" Glendaruel Chihu Tsuki. "Uisce" came to us from our good friend Pam Taylor in Victoria and is Mulan's half sister sharing the same father Ch. Itoshi Mista Bishi. Uisce also brings to our kennel some old but beautiful lines including the stunning Ch. Slaboda's Tropical Viking (Imp. SWD) and the famous Ch. Lacebark Sno Anastacia. Uisce was shown as a baby with lovely results but after a scare has never made it back into the ring.
2004 saw the introduction of some very exciting lines, with the arrival of the very defiant Aust Ch. Havenden Toy Story sired by Ch. Okkoyomas Cola D’ Becca (Imp NWY) out of Ch. Noidens Quite a Beauty (Imp SWD). “Seryphim” is a Multi in Group and Best of Breed winner, taking Reserve Challenge bitch at the Toowoomba Royal 2005 (from puppy class). Seryphim is only one of two bitches ever conceived through this exceptional combination!! In 2006 after a year of planning, Seryphim was leased by Coleisha in Tasmania and was mated to the very prominent Ch. Hindcross Taisho (Imp UK) producing 4 stunning babies who have ALL made their presence felt in the ring. Kimyata & Coleisha are one of only a few breeders who have been granted the privilege of using "Taisho" at stud, “Taisho” has been at restricted stud since his first coming to Australia. From this exciting combination we have introduced Xavia “Coleisha Almost Famous” to our family; she is a very cheeky girl with a stubborn will but we expect great things from her in the future.

Seryphim's beautiful daughter Coleisha Almost Famous at her first show - 2006.
2004 also saw the final litter from my foundation bitch Mulan; she was mated to the gorgeous Grand Ch. Daesdaemar Lovers Lane. This litter produced 2 males, one of these being the stunning Kimyata Love Actually. Kodah hasn’t yet made his official debut to the ring but has gone on to produce 3 gorgeous litters for Kimyata, with 5 of his children in the ring. Kodah's first litter to "Seryphim" produced 6 females with two of his beautiful daughter obtaining their Australian Championship title just after their 1st birthday. Aust Ch. Kimyata Spirited Away, owned by Beryl Emery and Liz Houldsworth, "Cammie" is a Best in Group winner and a Multiple class in group winner with sister Aust Ch. Kimyata Drama Queen, owned by Leah Kimmet, being a multiple Best of Breed and Class in Group winner.

Kodah "Kimyata Love Actually"
In 2006 "Kodah" was mated to our beautiful "Uisce" to produce the long awaited arrival of Astryd "Kimyata Deja Vous", with every litter at Kimyata thoroughly planned, we had been anticipating this combination for many years. “Astryd” still only young has had some wonderful results including Challenge and Reserve Challenge over older Bitches with many in group awards throughout her age classes. We have high hopes for her future.
So that's
the Kimyata story this far... I still consider myself new
to this gorgeous breed, because no matter how many years
we put into memorising pedigrees and selective breeding
to create that ideal type, there are always more learning
curves ahead.
The Next Generation…
After years of careful breeding Kimyata is proud to introduce our FIRST litter of 3rd Generation Kimyata’s. These babies have the best that my kennel has to offer sired by our beautiful Aust/NZ Ch. Kimyata Puddle O Mud out of our beautiful Kimyata Deja Vous… these newest addition contain some of the best lines in Australia including bringing together all the imported bloodlines I have sort out including Ch. Hindcross Taisho (Imp UK), Ch. Okkoyomas Cola D’ Becca (Imp NWY), Ch. Slabodas Tropical Viking (Imp SWD) & Ch. Belegund Di Paranor (ITL)(Imp SWD). I am very proud of this litter to date and it is with excitement that I watch their progress…

Kimyata Magic Dirt, Kimyata Midnight Oil & Kimyata Australian Idol
So that's the Kimyata story this far... I still consider myself new to this gorgeous breed, because no matter how many years we put into memorising pedigrees and selective breeding to create that ideal type, there are always more learning curves ahead.
There
are many people I would like to thank that have been good
friends and a great source of knowledge over the years.
Thank you to Beth Coleman (Coleisha), Aldith Greaves (Kofuji), Sue and Ian Templeton (Itoshi), Pam Taylor
(Glendaruel)
and Amanda Huggins (Daesdaemar) and in particular Lois Klinger
(Snowmagic) and Leah Kimmet (Havenden) whom without I would
have never found this beautiful breed.
